A lamp I made for my Design and Technology class. Like the title suggests, the four sides have designs cut into them so the light inside shines out to cast shadows on the walls.
Each side is a panel made from aluminium. The base and top pieces are made from acrylic. The top has two layers of acrylic - one black, one clear. The black piece is there purely to match the base and is removed when the lamp is on since it blocks light. The clear is left to hold the metal panels in place as it allows light to pass through it.
The lamp features a false bottom to neatly contain the wiring.

This light took me two terms to finish this but its definitely been worth it.
